Lighting control is a very important aspect in both commercial and residential projects. For example, we use lighting control devices to control the lights in a commercial hallway on and off each day at certain times to help conserve energy to help lower costs for the owner. Other options would be using occupancy sensors to tell the system to turn the lights on and off in office spaces as they are being used and not used in that same commercial space for the same reasons. Then in a residential space where schedulers are in place along with sensors to turn the lights on and off as our clients move about and use their home. Our client’s environments should be for them to use for what they were intended for, enjoyment and relaxing. We do not want our clients spending time turning on and off switches and dimmers to achieve the atmosphere that they are desiring at that time. Whether it is day or evening, lighting can be used to make any space feel more inviting and enjoyable. We strive to achieve this by talking with our clients to understand what it is they intend to use their spaces for and then give them recommendations on how we can improve the time that they will spend in those areas. If our clients never have to touch a wall control throughout their time in an area, then we have met our goals that we have set for ourselves for our clients.
We offer lighting control from two major manufactures, Lutron and Control4. Each both offer their own advantages to our client’s projects. After spending some time to understand what our client’s needs are for an area, we can then point them in the right direction for product selection that will work best for them.
Lighting control is not only limited to controlling the lights on the interior of a project, but also the exterior as well. We can control outlets that control transformers or the loads can be controlled directly by dimmers and switches. With some thought put into how the exterior lights can be integrated into the lighting system, a project can really show its beauty every day and every night.
